ABOUT

Born in Damascus Syria, raised in Rome and currently living in Sydney, I am of Italian and Polish heritage. My art is influenced by my upbringing which involved summer holidays spent in a Polish forest
For me, this was the perfect escape from the intensity and chaos of Rome. My love for art, nature, and unique creatures blossomed here.
I remember a childhood spent collecting and analyzing bugs! I was obsessed! I used to catch dragonflies and spend so much time observing their huge eyes with so many variations of green and yellow; wings; so delicate but intricate at the same time! Spiders with scary faces on a coppery metallic body! I used to get lost in all of these amazing details!
I used to love spending so much time playing by myself imagining and drawing realistic creatures in surreal environments. Basically, a strange kid!
Growing up I always tried to protect that little creative, solitary, obsessed-with-nature kid. And with passing time I realise that most people struggle to find beauty in these tiny creatures! For this reason, I have decided to share my vision where I try to show how unconventionally beautiful creatures can be the main characters of an elegant composition.

My painting style is known as Environmental Surrealism because it is sending a message about our surroundings in an imaginative space.
I am also proud to say that I am a not formally taught painter and I am the perfect example of where practice, hard work and curiosity can lead you. I like to think I am in good company with Henri Rousseau and Pablo Picasso!

All my paintings are glazed. This step requires me to spend an extra 6 months drying out the painting. Preventing them for yellowing over the years and also making them super easy to dust off!

In addition, with the purchased piece you will receive a certificate of authenticity and the story of the composition, all printed on recycled paper.

P.S. Every painting is new, original, and authentic, signed and dated on the front. Hiding in the composition, because I don't want to disturb the spectator's eye. Good luck finding it!
